Residential Treatment Centers In Nashville, TN
What Is Residential Treatment?
Residential treatment is one level of care for treating substance use disorders (SUDs). It provides a highly structured and intensive treatment option where participants reside at the treatment facility for a specified period. Participants receive round-the-clock monitoring and care by medical and addiction professionals. Residential treatment programs are also called inpatient rehab treatment.
The duration of treatment can range from 30 to 90 days, sometimes longer. How long someone remains in residential treatment depends on their needs, treatment goals, and objectives. Research has shown that people who remain in residential care for 90 days tend to avoid relapse better. This is because they have had more time to develop and practice coping skills.
Residential treatment is recommended for individuals in the following situations:
- They lack a stable and supportive home environment
- They have tried outpatient treatment and continue to relapse
- They are having thoughts of self-harm or suicide
- They could be a harm to others
- The level of addiction is moderate to severe

What to Expect During Residential Treatment in Nashville, TN
When starting residential treatment at Live Again Detox, we perform a comprehensive assessment and evaluation. This allows us to work with each individual to develop their personalized treatment and care plan.
Detox
The detox process typically ranges from 7 to 14 days. This depends on the substance and the severity of the dependency. During the detox process, patients will also receive nutritional support and hydration therapy. Getting the right nutrients and fluids gives patients their bodies the health they need to make the detox process easier.
The next step for many of our clients is to complete detox. We provide on-site medically supervised detox with access to FDA-approved medications. Our supervised detox monitors individuals round-the-clock. Our staff helps people manage their withdrawal symptoms to help them safely complete detox. We also attempt to keep our clients as comfortable as possible.
During detox, many of our clients will begin their therapy sessions. Starting therapy during detox helps manage withdrawal symptoms. It also allows people to begin to explore the underlying causes of their addiction. As they become more comfortable with treatment, they will start to attend group therapy sessions.
Peer Support
Our group therapy sessions include different topics. Some sessions will focus on education. Other sessions can be more open forums where participants discuss specific topics as they relate to their personal experiences. Other sessions can be peer-led and focus on providing support and guidance.
Group therapy sessions are a powerful tool for counteracting the isolation that addiction often brings. Through sharing personal experiences, participants can relate to their peers and draw strength from the solidarity and compassion of others. When guided by a licensed therapist, the group can explore difficult topics while avoiding unhelpful tangents or even unhealthy situations. Having a safe environment to connect with others with similar experiences has been a powerful way to understand one’s own addiction and consider new perspectives to help overcome it.
Healing the Family
In addition, we offer family therapy. We believe family members should be included in recovery when they are willing to participate. Addiction impacts families just as much as the person in treatment.
Our family therapy sessions provide a safe space to rebuild trust and communication. Family members are led to share how their loved one’s addiction has hurt them. Family members also receive education about addiction and learn how they can best support their loved ones.
Life Skills Training
Throughout residential treatment, our clients receive life skills training. This training helps them develop skills to manage their daily routines once they leave treatment. We also provide access to holistic therapies to help our clients create healthy habits vital for recovery and long-term sobriety.
Throughout residential treatment, our clients receive life skills training. This training helps them develop skills to manage their daily routines once they leave treatment. The skills help clients thrive in the work place, navigate their career, engage in family life in healthy ways, navigate living out their personal life with fulfillment, and manage personal responsibilities.
We also provide access to holistic therapies to help our clients create healthy habits vital for recovery and long-term sobriety. These practices, like meditation, journaling, fitness training, and peer accountability are shared so clients can utilize them as often as they need after treatment. By the time clients are done, clients are typically able to use these skills reliably to the level that they can feel confident to take on life challenges with healthy coping mechanisms.
Aftercare Planning
As our clients near the end of their residential treatment, we work closely with them to develop a personalized aftercare plan. Aftercare is vital to maintaining a substance-free life. We can provide ongoing counseling, support services, and referrals as well.
Their plan could also include transitioning to a lower level of care, such as intensive outpatient rehab. We can even assist in helping our clients find sober living communities when they lack a supportive home environment.
Within aftercare planning, clients develop action plans to manage triggers and work through stressful situations. We also help clients build strong support networks by connecting with peers, mentors, and community resources. Plans for regular monitoring after treatment are decided with the client, and this offers a great transition but it also give great peace of mind in starting a new life in recovery. The goal with aftercare planning is for every client to have full confidence in the success they have achieved in treatment and assurance that support is always available at any point in recovery.
Within our aftercare planning, clients are set up with our alumni program. This is a great way to stay connected with peers, maintain accountability, and continue to witness other folks’ remarkable experiences with recovery. Alumni consistently report that our alumni program at Live Again Detox does a great job of transitioning the richness of peer and mentor connection gained during treatment into everyday life, post-treatment. Our alumni program includes regular meetings, check-ins, and connections to resources.
